1 Month Old!!
I can't believe it, but my baby girl is 1 month old today. It has been a busy few days, with lots of ups, a few downs, and lots of firsts. I'll help everyone catch up:
-Megan is still wearing newborn size clothes and diapers, but is starting to fill them out more
-She is much more alert when she is awake and loves to look around and follow movement
-She is eating a lot more and has learned how to burp and spit up (bring on the bibs)
-Yesterday she took her first trip out of town to Madison and did really well riding in the car (the reason for the trip was an Echocardiogram that I will post about tomorrow)
-Her first outing to a restaurant went great, she slept the whole time
-For her month birthday Gram took her (and Momma) out to lunch (again, lots of sleeping)
-We went on our first shopping trip, and with Momma and Gram that is a marathon event even though we only went to 1 store
-Megan actually went to another state today (we live 20 minutes from IL)
-She had her first visit to Daddy at work
-We went to our first playgroup and were around other kids, and a dog (not sure she likes the dog)
-Wakes up once a night to eat at about 2 to 4am
-Hates getting baths, but LOVES having her feet lotioned and rubbed
-Loves to hang out in her sling while Momma gets things done
-Cannot sleep without her paci and still sleeps in her car seat/in the chair with Daddy
-She had her first Web Cam chat with Grandma and Grandpa Stormes in MI
-Took a few trips to Grams and LOVES to nap on her bed
-She took a nap in her crib for the first time
I think that's most of the firsts and high points of the last month. We have our 4 week check up with Dr. Julie tomorrow and I will post Megan's stats and Echocardiogram results then. For now I should go, someone wants some chow.

Baby Mine:
Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
never to part, baby of mine.
Little one, when you play,
pay no heed, what they say.
Let your eyes sparkle and shine,
never to tear, baby of mine.
This song means a lot to me this week, since it will be 1 year on Jan 30th that we lost our first little one to a miscarriage at 8 weeks. This year I will snuggle my little girl and relish the blessing that God has grown out of the sorrow.

3 weeks old
Here's what Miss Megan's been up to the last week:
-Megan LOVES to cuddle with her Gram and can do this for hours and hours at a time. We're pretty sure that Gram LOVES it too
-She likes to lay on her activity mat and watch the lights and listen to the music. This doesn't last long, but gives Mom and Dad a few minutes of free hands
-Sometimes baby girl sleeps for hours in her bouncy seat and maybe you can tell from this photo
-Megan's hair is getting lighter and is really puffy when she gets done with her bath
-This past weekend Megan took her first trip to Gram's house. She slept the whole time we were there, but isn't she adorable in her new snowsuit?
We can't wait to see what this next week brings and hope to capture the happenings on film and video.

2 Weeks Old
Today Megan turned 2 weeks old. I thought that this was a good time to let people know what she has been up to in the last 2 weeks:
-She spent 2 nights in the hospital and was so glad (at least Mom was) when we got to go home
-While in the Hospital her Dr. found a heart murmur and she had to have an Echocardiogram Everything that they found should resolve by time she is 4 weeks old, so we have an appointment for another Echo on Jan 27th. We would appreciate your prayers that this is OK
-She was too small for most of her clothes, but could wear a preemie outfit that Mom bought by mistake.
-Unfortunately she grew out of that outfit at 2 weeks. Here she is in it for the last time :(
-We took our first trip out of the house to the Dr. at 1 week old
-The Dr. was not able to hear the heart murmur anymore, thinks her hips are OK, and was happy that she was almost back up to her birth weight already. We are still going to have the Echo and Megan is going to have an ultrasound of her hips in 4 weeks to see that she doesn't have Mom's hip condition
-Megan was 6 pounds 14 ounces at 1 week and is a great eater. She is probably over 7 pounds by now
-She does not like getting her diaper changed or taking a bath. Here is our feisty/strong girl during bath time holding her head up. She was SO MAD
-Megan Loves to be snuggled and spends half of every night in the chair with Daddy and the other half in her car seat (Mom and Dad hope that changes soon)
-Last but not least, her greatest achievement came today, while laying on her activity mat. Megan rolled over from her stomach to her back. Mom tried to get this on video, but of course daughters do not perform on command
That's about it for the first 2 weeks. I know that Megan will be up to lots more in the coming weeks and I will keep you updated.
